Galaxies in NYC

I saw alot at a LFS, At Queens Blvd Grand ave called H2oaquariums

yeah, Kevin at H2O get's a lot of planted tank friendly fish,
even though he has given up on selling plants themselves.
it's one of the few places you can reliably get genuine
Amano's and SAE's. call and check stock before you go.

be prepared to NOT buy Galaxy's when you see them.
I was pretty disappointed how small and dull they were,
after seeing so many photo shopped pictures of them.

And what did you mean by "Genuine amanos and SAEs"?

Amano - Yamato shrimp - Caridina japonica
some stores try to sell you common ghost shrimp
instead of these special veracious algae eaters.

SAE - Siamese algae eater - Crossocheilus siamensis
some stores try to sell you Thai, Chinese, Indian, Flying
Fox (catfish/barbs) instead of this algae eating fish.

even Kevin at H2O can screw you. he once sold me a
bristlenose pleco which turned out to be a common one,
so know all you can about the fish before you buy them.

I know what amanos and SAEs are, I was just wondering why you added "genuine".

I don't think I've ever seen either of those mislabeled though. I've seen CAEs marked as "Algae Eaters", but all the shrimp I've seen sold as "Amanos" are indeed amanos and all the fish sold as "SAEs" are SAEs.

Might be to far for you but Aquarium adventure in Carle Place on Long island had them but they were really expensive. I think they wanted either $19 or $28 per fish.
