Now if we were only sure what it was that fixed the balance in your tank. What were the water parameters before and after the algae atack?

Did I mention how nice your tank looks?

This could be a good 'recovery story' so tell us what you did, step by step if you can.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".

Thanks ALL!
This was it a half a year ago, with waterparameters incuded:
http://www.plantedtank.net/forum/vie...ghlight=#25623

So you can conclude this:
- Plants where starving on lack of NO3.
- CO2 was not enough.
- Algea takes over, because the plants has no nutrients.
- I was feeding with phosfate rich food (Arthemia, Daphnia). This caused blue algea, especially because their was no Nitrates.

I'm very very thankfull to all the people that advised me. Without them i never got these conclutions/photo's/glad me

This is what i changed:
- fed back the BGA to the filter. Because it is dark there it will decompose and give away it's bounded Nitrogen to the water.
- I've bought the Dupla Co2 set.
- Added some KNO3 to get proper NO3 levels.
- Because there is always a lack of Potassium in the watersystem, the K boosts the plants really good.

This was so successfull, the algea dissapear within in week! (i have to tell it over again because i can't believe it myself :? ) Maybe the aging of the lights have taken part in this story too.

Well, I dose just a half a teaspoon on every waterchanhge and i change just 25% of water every 2 weeks. Than i check 2 times a week if the NO3 is not too high. If so, i'll change water. I've planned to buy more fish for my tank, so than maybe the dosing will be reduced by a half. Remember that the TESTING is very important when you start dosing KNO3!!
