I need to find a needle valve for my 5 pound CO2 Bottle. I really don't want to spend more than I need any recommendations?

Also I have a solenoid shut-off valve rated to 15 psi that I am thinking on setting up on the low side of my regulator before the needle valve and have it go one and off with the lights. As I am new to planted tanks I would like to hear your opinions on this? In some of the reading I have done the CO2 with the lights out is not necessary.

Thanks

from my experience... when connecting everything use bulkheads rather than pushfit air connectors. i take it this is a diy kit. the regulators shouldent be that expensive. does the solonoid get hot. then put it as far away from the bottle as you can. leave a message here if you want me to mail you some pics of mine if i can be any help just ask.

I don't think you need the solenoid. Lots of people (like me) don't use one. But it would make the co2 last a bit longer. for me it might save $5.00 a year but a solenoid is $20-30.

For needle valve, lots of people (like me) use the Clippard MNV-4k2 available lots of places. Of course there are many alternatives.

Check out my web site for more info on needle & metering valves.
