My next project is to make a corner tank, and move the angels, corys and otos to that one and make a goldfish out of the 30 gal. It will have these dimensions, side 1 = 58 cm, side 2 = 67 cm and the front = 88,5. It will be 55 cm high, so what lightning can i use? Since the tank is not very long, the flourescent tubes will only be like 18 watts, and that will not be enough for a depth of 55 cm. I have been thinking of using HQL lamps. Any experience?

MH light is going to be about the only way you are going to be able to make that one work.

I have to agree with Rex. You could try all sorts of combinations of fluorescent or power compact tubes but ultimately if you want to have a high light planted tank, you'd be better off with a Metal Halide for a tank that tall.
Champion Lightings has a pretty good retrofit kit for $139 with a daylight bulb: 1X175W CSL MH RETRO KIT W/ 5500K LAMP
