powerhead for circulation
For my low-tech 30, should I go with
Aquarium Systems Maxi-Jet ![]() Or the 20 times more expensive, German-made, Tunze electronic 5001 model (which definitely makes it too-high tech): ![]() I think the Tunze is only useful for elaborate reef systems. What do you all use for your low-tech? |

Hydor Koralia?
I've only used Aquaclear power heads, no problems with those. |

Get the maxi jet for sure. It's cheap, quiet and runs cool. It's even rated to run outside of the tank without being submerged. Many other brands would just burn up if you tried that. I used one to build a canister filter a while back. I had the maxi jet mounted outside of my canister (glass jar).
I can't really say anything for the tunze as i've never used one but if it really costs 20 times more, I say save some money and get the maxi jet. |
