I did a quick search and found their website.
http://khcaquarium.com/

It seems they are only open from 8am-4pm, monday-friday.

It's odd to have this kind of business hours. I guess they are doing whole sales, so not expecting many customers to visit them.

Yes, the emphasized "wholesale" although they are open to the public it seems.

I went there a couple of weekends ago, they are open to the public. It is basically a wholesale place. When you walk through, don't be scared. Just bare left and walk down the stairs. To the right is freshwater and to the left is saltwater. They have pretty much your basic fish, with tons of discus. No pricing on tanks so you would have to ask the guy how much each fish was. All tanks besides salt water are bare bottom. I was browsing for about 10 min before the owner came and greeted me. So don't think they are closed, just that they really don't expect too many people who walk off the streets to come in, but definitely open to everyone. They told me to tell my friends and anyone can come in!

When you first walk down the stairs, you must overcome the feeling that you are about to be murdered any second and walk through the door. There you'll find row upon rows of tanks. Just have to get past the scary bit then you'll be fine.

How cheap are these wholesale price? Im asking for those who have managed to buy any fish from them. I want to know if this place is worth the trip. I would buy a few fish and quarantine them of course if the prices are very cheap.

I'd say they are definitely worth a visit but know they specialize in premium fish of select species. The owners explained they do not intend to carry common fish but it would vary by customer demand the available stock overseas.

As a rule of thumb, if you aren't buying large quantities (15+) don't expect discounts at most shops.

There werent any plecos when i went 3 weeks ago. They manager was actually surprised and asked how i found this place since they werent even officially "open" yet. LOL.

I told him the aquaria underground knows all

He did say he would stock them but it all depends on what is available for export.

Export from where, Asia? Any chance you saw any wild discus, or just domestics?

He mentioned asia / singapore being one place and south america being the other. We were speaking broadly since it was our first meeting. Sorry i didnt pay close attention to the types as i dont keep discus but there were certainly over a dozen tanks with discus, rainbows alone.

Thanks Al. I'll have to stop by when I get a chance and see what is available to them.

They have red rainbows. KHC is run by the same person who owned Blue Gold in Elmhurst. They have the largest discus selection in NYC.
