Yay Diy Co2 hooked up. Hopefully I'll see some results

On another note. I added juvi angels from another tank and now they have ich. They had ich in the other tank months ago but after raising the heat for several weeks I hadn't seen anything on them for over a month. I thought they were good to go. Apparently not so much. Raising the temp slowly.

I hope the dual punch of raising the temps and adding co2 doesn't drive out to much oxygen and hurt the fish. I hope since its diy it won't be too bad.

Finally got around to trimming and adding co2 yesterday. (The original one didn't work. Either because of a leak in the sealing of the airlines or a leak in the container top.)

Ok so the feeding the diy co2 airline into the ac filter does not work for me. It is super loud. Eagerly waiting for diffuser shipment to arrive.

That grass lawn is really looking good!

I like the way you have layered your colors and textures. I sort of miss the height on the left but your floaters pick up the slack nicely. And of course I like the angels.

Really a beautiful environment. Lets see what it looks like now!

Thanks Tom! I miss the height on the left too. The tank feels a little lopsided. I am hoping to get around to tank maintenance tomorrow. I'll update then.

I have been neglecting my tanks. There is just not enough time in the day. This is the tank before the trim
And after.

Meh. I kind of hate the tank right now.

Contrary to what everyone suggested in another post, I did not leave good enough alone and changed out lights. I did not like the look of the brooder domes so I changed them out with coralife t5ho's. On the plus side, the light spread is much better. The colorata on the left is finally growing after months and months of just surviving. On the negative side, I lost a lot of par. The lotus, which before was a nice little bush, is now reaching for the light. I am going to have to either a) trim or b) change its location.

I moved the ludwigia sp. red to the left because it was in the shadow of the lotus, and to give that part some red.

I took out the echinodorous parviflora in the mid left because it was hidden by the hairgrass. It kicked up a lot of dirt when I took them out so I stopped messing with the tank. I don't want to stress the fish. Next time I'll cut down the r.rotundifolia and r.colorata and replant the tops.

Oh and some crypts have re-emerged in the left corner. I must have left the rhizomes when I ripped them all out. I kind of like the mixed look. I'm going to keep them.
Don't mind the bubbles; here are the crypts.

Oh and are all angels vain?

Yeah, experimenting with your light can be scary. In fact, I'd say that getting the light right in a low tech tank is 90% of the battle. From here I'd say that whatever light let you grow that lawn without much algae was a pretty darn good balance.

That is one handsome angelfish. In its case, self admiration is allowed and to be expected.

Oh, and next picture you take? Let's see it with the water up to the rim!

Oh somehow the after picture link broke--let me fix that...here is the after picture

Yes the light that grew the lawn was two brooder domes with 23 watt cfls. I was pleasantly surprised at how the lawn came out. For some reason I am getting hair algae now that i wasn't with the much higher light. Why did I mess with it?
