What an awesome find!
I've been really thinking about getting some oebt, they're so pretty.
Man, if I were a shrimp I'd want to live in your tank!

Oebt are an awesome next step. They bred like absolute jack rabbits for me. Was pretty sad to get rid of them. But if I have a male and female out of the 3 that snuck by I will have a thousand of them by next year! lol

Lol!
I just set up a ten gallon about 6 weeks ago and added my first tiger shrimp last week. They're doing really good so far, no losses and they're out grazing on the algae on the glass.
I made another post, but since you're Tiger King, what do you think of mixing oebt with regular blueish tigers? They're not oebt, but they're blue. I was very happy when they arrived.
I want oebt for sure but have no room for even one more tank. Lol.
Would they make ugly babies with my tigers?

Haha i really need to change the "tiger king". It was just a joke on all tje "planted tank gurus" on here, just because a person posts a ton does not mean they know what they are talking about.
As for the tigers with oebt, I would keep them seperate. I would think oebt came from tigers so you would just degrade your oebt. Like mixing pfr with regular cherries. I had a oebt knock up one of my royals. Ended up with like 5 or more babies that looked like regular oebt. A waste of a berry of you ask me as oebt are worth 1\3 or less the price of royals.
I would say just keep the regular tigers for a while and gain some experience keeping them happy and breeding. Then when you have a bunch sell them all and use the money to buy the oebt. That's what i did with my oebt, used the money to buy the royals.

Tank has come a long long way in past week. Hc is just growing like crazy, not a nice thick mat yet, but has full coverage. I had to move the filter up behind the tank until i can figure something else out, maybe add my danner mag. When the sponge on the intake clogged even the littlest bit, the 6ft of head was just to much and flow would slow to a trickle within 2 days. Definitely ordering a stainless shrimp strainer, I am sick and tired of cleaning sponges. I think every shrimp tank i do from now on will have a ugf so it will be a non issue. Added a adult male royal and 2 more babies along with a couple more supremes. Can not wait to get the rest of the royals in, swear i see more and more babies every day, think i probably have 40 or more.

Looking good! I've been doing all UGF's lately and will be converting the ones that arent. So much nicer and less maintenance. They work really well with HOB's. I've been DIY'ing them with PVC and they work great and still allow removal of the HOB for cleaning.

Shrimp have been doing amazing in their new tank. In the past month ive had 2 royals, a oebt get knocked up by a royals and 3 supremes berry. Didn't lose a single one of the royals i added to this tank. Guess i matched params close enough.

Not anywhere near as dark as they look in that pic, just a quick crumby pic. Although mine do not look anything like that electric blue you see in all the pics except for under extremely high light. I imagine most pics are taken with a pretty strong flash. I have found they are different shades of blue like oebt.

I had a royal, the oebt knocked up by a royal and 2 supremes give birth in the past couple weeks. Tank is FULL of babies! They are just everywhere.

Got some air plants from southern oak aquatics the other week. Needed more tds up so i threw a couple in since i was already paying for shipping. One came almost in bloom and is looking gorgeous now. Really cool looking plants.

Weird but cool, is its roots just shoved into the split in the wood or somewhere underwater behind the wood?
