I have a single 10000K light on my tank and I love the colors it gives, although I have lots of red plants. I'll get an updated picture when I get home (currently only have one from a couple weeks ago and things have grown like crazy).

Hi Gordon, I'm glad the light arrived safe and sound (and not slowed by snowstorms!). I thought I'd sent you a ship date via PM here but perhaps I didn't hit 'send'. DOH!

Eglinlotus: I think running a 6300K in combination with a 10,000K will give you good color rendering of any reds/pinks/oranges among your stem and background plants, while providing a bright accurate daylight rendition up front. This is our most popular setup for customers running two fixtures on their tanks. However, if you prefer warmer-toned spectrums then two 6300K fixtures will work for you (or, if you prefer cooler, then go with two 10,000K). I don't recommend the Iwagumi unless you plan on keeping only green plants.

Keep in mind that you cannot judge brightness from photos as it will be relative to camera aperture settings. That said, all of these spectrums are very very bright (please do not ever stare at them directly).

Let me know if you have any further questions!

I have BML 10K LEDs. It has much more reds than my 10K T5HO's that were on the tank before. The colors are a lot warmer than I had anticipated. It looks like I will have to get a second one since my tank is 24" wide.

Heh...this is why choosing the perfect spectrum is so tricky, because to my eyes the 10,000K looks neutral to very slightly cool! But it does run some red LEDs to make your red color group plants 'pop' and balance the spectrum.

Hi Cara,

Lights are working out well. Will be hitting you up for another one soon. Upper back of tank is a bit dark...
