EI seems to be going ok have noticed good growth in dhg. Honestly the amazon seems stunted, at one point it was putting out two leaves a day I might have had two in the last two weeks and they are both see thru and yellow. Not sure if that's caused by yhe dosing or not. I also do not have pressurized co2 which I know is recommended although I am keeping drop checker lime green with no effects on fish.

I left the roots of the val in hopefully they will come back. For right now I am going to stop dosing to excel to see what it does as I see no other reason for any melting. Especially with the camboda. I know Downoi is hard to keep so I am not to conerned with that and still have two green stems left hopefully that will come back.

Well here is the latest. Blackout removed the algea I was hoping it would. Now for some reason my water is cloudy. I can't see why I would be having a bacteria bloom as the tank is well established. The filter has been used for two years!

I also am having bad diatom algea issues that got worse. My well water also seems to be very high is sulfur and iron. I just moved before I setup this tank from city water to a well. I have never had issues in the past so I'm leaning towards water high in silicates among the other issues. I do have an r.o. unit although it only has a 2 gal holding tank. (Meant for drinking water) so I will be filling up a ton of gallon jugs thru the week and using that for w ater changes. Hopefully this fixes issues.

On a good note I am already seeing the glosso growing and spreading. The dwarf haigrass has exploded. Water sprite needs a good trim because I have alot of new plantlets sebding roots. If I could get rid of the diatoms everything would look much better. Hopefully using ro water helps!

Also forgot I lost all neons and two glolight tetras shortly after water change. I'm starting to question if our well water is even safe. Culligan will be out tomorrow to check equipment. I also requested a bacteria test. The joys of buying a home lol

Well I have kind of neglected posting due to green water issues. About a week after the last picture the tank got so bad I couldn't even see into the tank more than an inch.

I did finally pick up a canister filter with a uv sterilizer built in. After 5 days the tank is 95% clear. I cannot believe the amount of growth that I have had in the last few weeks with the greenwater! Please keep in kind the tank glass is dirty and I haven't trimmed anything in a month due to my inability to see into the tank. But here is the pic from last night!

Update after a good cleaning and a prune. I am very happy with the growth in this tank. I have noticed the dwarf hairgrass and glosso thinning. I am assuming from not getting a lot of light with how thick the greenwater was.
