"The Chaos Garden"

It's now gone. I sure miss it. I will keep this as my last memory of it. Farewell........

This is the journal of my 55 gallon that i named it " The Chaos Garden". Because it will be having many different species of plants, like a collection . I actually had a journal for this tank before that you can check in my profile!

Here is the spec of the tank
- 55 gallon tempered glass tank with dimension of 48" x 13" x 21"
- A single Finnex ray II DS
- Pressurized co2 with milwaukee regulator and a 5lbs cylinder
- Inline diffuser and inline heater
- Sunsun Canister filter 370 gal/hour with UV light built in
- Sunsun circulation wave maker 530 gal/hour
- Dirted with MOGCP and capped with BDS
- Dosing EI method with NPK and Plantex +B dry ferts. I also dose excel flourish and seachem flourish iron
Plant lists: ( Coming soon when i get all the names )
Inhabitant:
- 3x Otto
- 2 pairs of blue german ram
- 1 pair of gold ram
- Angel fish will be added soon
- Gold tetra x5

The whole process of cleaning up and setting up took me 7 hours straight.
Here are the pics:

Subtrate added, the back is about 3.5" and the front is about 2.5"

The tank after added plants and filled in with fresh bubble :P

Move and added few plants the next day

Default 17 days update

Update:

- Been messing around with co2 and lighting. I'm getting a reactor built from nilocg as i'm getting sick of these soda bubbles and i figured that there might be a small leak inside of my inline diffuser ( it was an extra and used with the regulator anyway). I also looking to trade/sell off my finnex ray 2 to buy a quad t5ho fixture since i want more coloration now beside green.
- Added 5 amano shrimps.
- I've been focusing on pruning plants as i want the bottom of those stems to stay strong and thick before i let them go wild ( may be not any soon) so the whole tank does not seem to grow much in the picture but the plants have been growing kinda quick.
- Added few more plants but i'm still waitting on 2 more so i'm not ready to have the plant list yet.
- The glosstigma still grows well but this time i do realize that with higher co2, the leaf tends to grow so much bigger than back to the day when i had low co2 or those in my non co2. I'm not sure if i'm going to like the shape of the leaves this way yet. Here is the FTS

Im going to do a full update at the end of the week when i receive the replacement for my new lighting as it was sent in wrong version. I have sold my ray 2 and im going back for t5ho. Check out my previous scape of this 55, ray 2 definately gives you medium to high light. The only problem is that it washed out all of my red plants. Some said monster ray will be a perfect additional but i figured that id like to go back for t5ho better. Here is a quick shot though

They been growing crazy faster than before. I do regular trimming to keep them at bay though and sell them for others so they wont be covering the whole tank any soon like before.

One month old update.

- Sold my finnex ray 2, replacing it with a zoomed quad. The seller sent me the dual instead of the quad, but the replacement will be here soon.
- Added a second sunsun canister ( 264 Gal/H) without UV light, mainly for my DIY reactor that hopefully will be coming soon. This only hold foams and 250ml of purigen as media.
- Added but removed a sun sun circulation 530 gal/H. I don't like the way it messes up my plants so out for now, still gonna use it later when needed.
- Battled with Diatoms and BBA in the last 2 weeks as its a new set up and some of plants i bought/ was given had some on. Should have had dip them, i know.
- Did "One-Two Punch" method with 2 non media canister running and the circulation mentioned above. I actually used the third punch too, as API algae fix but half recommended dose. I removed fish and inverts when i was doing it. Method can be found here http://www.plantedtank.net/forum/sho...d.php?t=203684.
- After a week of whole tank treatment, i keep up with initial dose recommended on excel and half recommended dose on API algae fix. No new algae in already a week so far, not even green spot algae like i always have on the glass. May be they are just coming back very slowly.
- Increased the co2 as i let the indicator stays yellowish now. Added more surface movement with spray bars.
- Got my last shipment of plant yesterday. Still working on collecting name of plants. Sorry but its mid term time!
- Some plants are growing weedy, some stunt. I'm going to let the plants grow wild in the next 3 weeks, like what i wanted to see this time, the growth of plants.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, PICTURES.

FTS
