Best coffee table all in one

My wife wants a "small" betta tank for our living room. We had a 10 gallon set up for her but things didn't go as planned for it and it became a QT.

There seem to be a bunch of different nano set ups. I'm looking for personal opinions based on price, lighting and built in filter. Looking to stay under 5g with some dwarf sag, stems and hygro

I suggest one of the Fluval Spec tanks, everything you need except a heater, LED lights, hidden filtration, and all in a nice looking tank. I think $50 to $80 range?

You should read it as "everything you need except a heater[.] LED lights, hidden filtration, and all in a nice looking tank."

Spec comes with everything except for the heater.

gotcha, I've never owned a nano tank before. What's the best brand of heater for these?

I'd recommend you read around because there is extra space in the filtration compartment to put a heater in the fluval spec but it's not large enough to put a typical larger heater. I have seen people get the Hydro Theo 50W or Tetra 50W.

Concur with Chrisinator. Hydro Theo 50W or Tetra 50W are both good. Hydro let you set the temp, and Tetra is set for 78 degrees. With Spec V, which is 5 gallons, you can even go with 25 watt version of either heaters. They are both low profile.

I have two Bettas; one live in Fluval Chi and the other live in topless Fluval Edge. Fluval tanks (including Spec V) let you put your own media, so I added Seachem Matrix. Water is clear and both of my Betta are doing very well. You will get similar results with Spec V.
One additional thing to add in your tank would be a Nerite Snail. With it, you don't need to worry about the bio films!

Lastly, Fluval Chi is going around $43 at no ebay links allowed That is why I have my Betta in it. =)

I think the 25,5o & 75w Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm Heater @6.5" would fit. I've got two now, I think they are the new bench mark for heaters.

I have a Fluval Spec 3 I just setup for a Betta. However, I'm still cycling at the moment so I don't have a Betta. The Hydor 25w fits very well. I have a post around here from a few days ago highlighting the tank.
