Question

Help with aquarium epoxy, once set can you remove it from glass?

So in dealing with my fluval ebi background I have seen that Instant ocean hold fast would be an epoxy alternative for fixing the background to the tank. My question is should I want to the background in the future how would I go about separating the two, would I be able to remove it from the glass?

I think acetone can soften/dissolve most epoxies. But you would need to tear the tank down to use that, and it would probably damage the back ground.

I don't think you need something with a lot of strength to hold a background in place, you could probably do it with just a few dots of silicone.

That way, the background could peel off from the silicone, and then you could just razor the silicone off the glass.

I did decide to use with silicon, I used quite a bit to ensure success, lol.

My work is here if anyone is interested

I'm pretty sure that will hold, I just hope you like it that way, as I'm fairly certain it will be a major PITA to remove.
