Metae kitten!

Saw something darting around at base of the chain sword. Not the best pic, just took it quick with the iPhone. I have had cories for many years, but never managed to get them to breed to my knowledge, so this is a nice surprise.

Aww! It's so cute!
Kitten... Never thought of calling a baby catfish that. Good idea.
Quick, poke around and look for more!

Since then, I've found three more, all of different sizes. The parents have been laying eggs fairly regularly for a few months. I guess I have enough cover and aufwuchs to support the babies. I found a few eggs during today's WC, so I moved one to my shrimp tank. Thought I would give it a shot without any predators.

Had the same thing happened to me one time with Cories. One day I just saw little babies about a half inch long swimming out from my bed of dwarf hairgrass. The grass was so thick that it must have had them concealed for a month or so. Very cool though!
