Are you planting them in the substrate or attaching to driftwood or rocks?

Both, I have my oldest one growing on a piece of driftwood, and 2 growing in the substrate.

And just in case it makes any difference in the answer, I am running low light and no CO2

With anubias, I don't think the co2 matters much. I would say you can have as much as you want and as close as you want. I have tons of anubias packed into my driftwood.

KC area. Fishworld in blue springs is gone. Petland in blue springs has some decent fish and driftwood, even some nice plants if you can find them, but the staff is hopeless. They couldnt tell me where anything was. Brothers pets almost always has an excellent selection. They are very hit and miss on the health of their freshwater stock so inspect anything you buy well.
City Pets always has some good oddball stuff and the most helpful staff around. They have BBA in all tanks. Bleach dip any plants, rock, or driftwood you buy there. As for fish all are in great health.
Planet pet is gone.
Picasso is cool to check out but anything and everything is 2-3 times the cost anywhere else.
If I am forgetting any in the area let me know, but I think thats it.

Oh yeah the Walmart in blue springs gets some decent cichlids in every once in a while. You just have to catch them right after they are stocked.
The Petco in Lees summit and blue springs both have very very good aquatic department managers. They keep everything in as good shape as possible. The manager in the Lees summit store even orders oddballs in every once in a while.

I live in the Fairview Heights IL area but work in Chesterfield MO. If you are interested, there is a Missouri Aquarium Society auction this Sunday Nov 10th at the Crown Plaza hotel by the St Louis airport. Google for the MASI website and it lists times and directions. There will probably be a great variety of fish, plants, and some equipment for sale.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered a bunch of plants yesterday, but I may drive up and check it out.

I'm in St. Louis, near the Hill and Tower Grove. I'm just terribly shy :-) I did just go to Aqua-World on Gravois finally (everything's a field trip with two kids in tow!) and we all liked it. Plenty of healthy plants, and they told us they're getting ready to build up their saltwater collection.

Never got out to Aqua-World but did check out Petland in Lake Saint Louis,.. very nice selection of plants there and even cherry shrimp. He has local breeders as his suppliers on many of the fish.
