Eheim makes a couple of models that have heaters built into them. Or you can buy this product http://petsolutions.com/cgi-bin/cgii...150000&l=2 and plumb it into your current setup. It's much cheaper than a new $300 filter.

Nice, thanks for the link Rex...
Well, I got the diy inline reactor running on the output of the fluval 404. It slowed the flow a bit, but I actually wanted that to happen as the 404 puts out more than enough current for my 55. No leaks and good absorption, 25-30ppm and few visible bubbles coming out of the filter! I would post a picture, but it looks exactly like every other PVC external reactor, just run a search. Thanks again for all the advice. Brian
