You're welcome reggie!
Thanks for helping out to the ferts distribution and being one of the early dedicated testers. I'm glad you decided to share the joy at the forum. He is running MH lights. It may look so small, but this kind of lighting packs a punch. At just less than 1wpg it is still enough to grow plants... on what you may consider as moderately-lit tank. On the other hand I'm running 260g with 3 x 150W MH and can be considered powerfully-lit tank, harder to control well. Reggie's tank could use more light in my opinion, such as adding another pendant or switch to 150W ones if he feels like it because we can see how some plants turns greenish instread of retining its reddish hue, more likely due to lack of powerful light (one plant we can see here is rotala rotundifolia) and not due to lacking nutrition/minerals. I love the setup. You just need to keep the shape by strategic trimming.

I have to agree with MM here. Also I think you did a good job with a tank that has 2 viewable sides. I hope to watch this one grow in.

Are these real?

Very nice setup. Don't worry about W/gal numbers, like Walter said, the intensity of MH makes them very suitable for larger tanks.
I like the planting, the two side setup isn't easy to pull off, and so far it looks good. While the wood on the bottom is extremely awesome, I don't like the mix of too many different types of wood. It is nice to have some vertical elements, but I would have skipped the curly parts. Once it grows in a bit more, it may become less obvious, and maybe the pipes and powerhead will be hidden a bit more as well. Then it will be perfect IMO.

My echinodorus red rubin, echinodorus red rubin narrow, echinodorus red flame, and other plant continue grow new leaves which give sign it had enough light but maybe not good enough for other plant like rotala rotundifolia. Perhaps I should add a little more light to this tanks.
I will give update for my tanks .... thanks all for the comment. |

Tank lots great!
I like the two sided effect but prefer the wood side. The curly wood looks great with the moss. I might have to go that way instead trying to find a large tangled root fish can swim through. |
