GBR ID and Sexing

So I saw these guys in the "Chain LFS Whom Shall Not Be Named" and kinda got guilted into getting them. I had a pair of male Dwarf Gourami who both died within a week of one another (old age) and I saw a pair of these guys alone in a tank by themselves. I was a little shocked that this particular store even had these, so I picked them up to fill the void my DG's left.

It was obvious that they were male and female because they looked so different. They were both in pretty poor shape, and one of them didn't make it.

So this one is left, and doing better. I think it's a female (due to the blue showing through the black spot and the pinkish belly) but I'm not sure. I'm not even 100% positive that it's a GBR as they had another tank with Bolivians nearby.

So, I'm trying to track down a mate for this lonely little ram. Any help in confirming it's a GBR and maybe a guess at the sex is greatly appreciated. I know it's still small, and it's still recovering from a pretty poor condition.

I know this flash pic is terrible, but you can see the actual colors better:

It is a GBR, just very dull looking. It's hard to say male or female for me right now, I'd say get it a good diet, let it color up then check to see. I have a feeling its a female with that pink tint on the belly,

Looks like a GBR no doubt. As far as sex the pink belly is the dead giveaway, I don't see a pink underside in the pictures but that could be picture quality.

Yeah, the picture quality sucks. My Nikon was recently stolen out of my worktruck, so all I have to work with currently is a cell phone :/

I think she is a female GBR. without a male present, her pink spot will not show up. And her coloring will be more dramatic with a male as well. The blue spots showing through on her black spot are the giveaway for me. Plus she is plump and round like most females in comparison to males. I see the pink belly in almost every pic, its just extremely dull bc without a male present, who is she trying to impress lol

100% GBR, not 100% on the sex, but I would tend to agree with the other posters.

Thanks for the help everyone

I guess I'm on the hunt for a male GBR then.

Top photo is female, it has the blue scales in the black false eye. It also appears to have purplish/pink underbelly

Thanks again, she's definitely female! I just added a male from a member on here a few days ago and she has really brightened up! Nice pink underbelly and her blue flecks are even more iridescent. I think there's a good chance they will pair up if they haven't already. They're spending a lot of time following each other and showing off their colors and finnage. A little bit of chasing, but it seems playful.
