Are 55g tanks not carried anymore?

I just called petsmart and looked on the petco site and I can't get a price on either. Petco appears to not carry them? Petsmart is selling just the kit and not tanks individually.

Petco's site does not have all the tanks that the brick & mortar stores do. My local Petco has 55gal tanks for $115.

My petco has em too. Some walmarts as well. Walmart was 119 with a cheapo filter, hood, and heater.

You just missed petcos $1 per gallon sale. If you are in no hurry in a few months youll be able to pick one up for $55

I highly recommend this route. I make sure when money permits, I stock up with what I can for my intents. I have been stock piling tanks for a year now, lol.

Online doesn't give you everything these box stores carry. Your better off calling at the least for their inventory. You can save yourself time and gas. Especially during sales. They don't advertise sales often online, they want you to come in. 55g are common and will never go away. They are a good balance between big tank and small tank.

The manager at my local Petco told me this weekend that they will run another one "before the holidays". He wasn't specific about which holidays. I am hoping sometime around Nov. 1st... I'm wanting to setup a new 40B but don't want to pay $120 for the tank.

This year isn't typical that's for sure. They had one end in the month of July and kicked another one off again a month later. I took advantage both times, lol. Normally I do think they might do it seasonally but they might be changing things up a little. I need 6 more 40g breeders myself to finish complete my racks.

I know this is slightly off topic, but I figured I would ask since Petco came up...

I live about an hour from the closest petco and have never had the chance to take advantage of the dollar per gallon sale... do they sell large tanks and do they qualify for the sale? I'm talking 120-240 gallons or so...

Largest I've ever seen in my Petco is 55.

55g is the largest for the $1 sale. They have 5g,10g,15g h,20g l,29g,40g b and 55g. Not all will carry all sizes so it will be a hit or miss if you only have one petco around.

This is what mine has usually:
10 gallon
20 long
29 gallon
40 breeder
55 gallon

So nothing over 55. Mine usually doesn't include 20 highs which I find odd. Any other odd sizes like 15 gallons, 25 gallons, etc are not included. All tanks are Aqueon as well, no other brands included.

I don't even know the last time I saw a tank bigger than a 55 at Petco anyway. Petsmart has bigger (75's) but not big like 100+.

Thanks, that's kinda what I was thinking. Figured it was a long shot, but it'd be worth the drive for a 125.
