I prefer the black background just because it tends to be less noticeable than blue. That being said, if you continue on heavily planting your tank, it won't matter what color you have!

By the way, good decision on removing those Amazons. I made the mistake of putting 4 in my 58 gallon and a year later, they were WAY too big for the tank and I removed them, one by one to make room.

Looks like you've got some great progress so far!

A blue background won't bring out your colors, as much as the black background. If you do blue I would go with a dark blue. I am a fan of the black background, because it makes your plants and fish look more vibrant.

Nice setup. You may want to take each one of those clumps of grass and split them up into about 20 each and spread them around--otherwise they won't go anywhere very quickly....

OK, guys got the "Black Background". It does look better already. Also traded in the BN Pleco last Sunday & got 3 more Ottos. Here are the pics:
