Seachem Paraguard kills BBA?

I have been battling BBA somewhat in my tank. It never really threatens to overwhelm my tank but it reminds me to keep up with my tank maintenance so that BBA stays in the background. I been dosing Excel at normal dosage for 2 weeks but it did not seem to do much except if I does it directly at the BBA.

However this week, a couple of my fishes contracted ich. So I decided to use Seachem Paraguard. Its now 5 days of the Paraguard normal dosage. I dose it at half one the first day, then 3/4 2nd day and full on the 3rd day onwards. And today on day 5, I noticed that many BBA are red or turning red! BBA on the driftwood where my moss are has a bunch of dead BBA. A number of red BBA on my Buce plants. So, could it be that Paraguard kills BBA as well?

Anyone else had this same experience? I changed nothing else on my tank which is a EI tank with medium light.

Are you sure the medication is safe for plants? If not, maybe that's why the BBA is dying???

Well seachem says it's generally safe for plants although they have not tested all plants under all ph levels. Have not heard anyone complain that it killed plants before. But I am looking closely at my plants to see if they are being affected. So far they seem fine.

I had to use Paraguard right after getting a couple of GBR's (both survived) and treated the tank- and have added it when adding new fish since then. No plant problems that I can detect.
