Need ideas for light mounting

Currently my 10 gallon has a lowes brooder clamp lamp for the lighting. It's clamped onto the side of my iron Stand (it's under my 50 gallon tank) but direct of the light creates a lot of dark areas of the tank. I want to add another lamp but can not for the life of me figure out how to put these lights directly over the tank. I've drawn up a diy hood, but I have no way to cut the holes (I was just going to sit the lamps over the wood)

Suggestions?

If the space works???
I might look at a plant stake. Small flexible stake long enough to go across between the legs of the stand. Short section of PVC pipe? Remove the clamp and drape the wire over the stake or pipe. Twist tie or small wire to tie the electrical wire together to adjust the height?

It might be too much work now, but what I did was lay plywood on the top of the stand (in your case, under the 50 gallon tank) and screwed hooks into it from which I could hang a light fixture over the bottom tank. But unless you want to drain your 50 gallon now, that won't work. Is there any way you could clamp the light to the back part of the stand rather than the side? Then you could center the light over your 10 gallon tank.

I tried to clamp it to the back underside of the stand, but the angle was bad and the lamp was less than 1/4in from the water line.
