Tall Hairgrass

Hi all. Just started a 30L tank and have got some Tall Hairgrass in there.

I was under the impression Hairgrass spread but putting out runners although looking at my Tall Hairgrass that I have it appears that new shoots are growing off the tips with what appears to be a root. Do I just cut these off and replant them or are they sending out runners anyway and I just need to snip the top bit off?

Eleocharis vivipara

They grow new plants at the tips as well as by runners. If you don't keep up with snipping the plants off the tips the hairgrass becomes a real mess. You don't need to plant the clippings but you can if you want too.
