rams and compatability

Any one know if this fish (ram cichlids) has any compatability issues.
for a planted tank. smallest fish i would have other then frys would be black neons and celebes rainbows

I've had full-grown males get a bit testy at one another (and it's mostly all show), but never had any inter-species conflicts. Rams are quite docile, and are frequently kept with small tetras (in my case) and discus.

ok i was wondering how well they did with fishes like corys and loaches. ive heard that when spawing they will bite a eye or two. and i heard they have a short life expectency. wanted to put them in a tank with loaches corys and a bunch of tetras alike buenos ares, atstrial, emperors and congos. and a few celebes rainbows.

they'll do fine with other fish. They are one of the least aggressive cichlids.

some cories, a bushynose, and a betta. No problems at all.

One thing to keep in mind is when keeping them with tetras, loaches and other "fast" fishes is that they are a little slow when eating. Depends on what kind of food, but when I feed flakes, they like to suck them in, chew around on them for a little, maybe spit them out a few times until finally swallowing. Other, "faster" fishes just gulp down as much as they can, Rams need their time.

What about juvenile rams (1 1/4") and full grown congos? I am thinking of adding 3 full grown congos (from another tank) to my 72g with a pair of juv. rams. Anyone think they could stress the rams just by their size alone?? The rams are easily 1/4 the size of the congos. Thanks
