I used to go to the xbox.com forum, and let me tell you, it was not pretty. People were ready to kill each other over who was better at game a, or whether game b was better than game c. Eventually, I concluded to myself that it wasnt worth arguing because everyone likes something different. BTW, this forum is awesome. I come to it daily to read, and I have become very good at plant-keeping due in part to this site.

I have, for the benefit of the forum, maintained an open mind on every topic that I reply to... to some extent. However, you are all still wrong! Kidding!

I even go out of my way to remove useless babbles from my posts, to help maintain an "ON TOPIC" feel. Even if it makes me look as if I am wrong. I am trying so hard to not use the forum as a "CHAT ROOM", which is fun, but useless.

I have the deepest respect and thanks for those who also do this. Because of them, I don't have to sift through 80% of ammonia polluted water, to get to the 20% of fresh water at the bottom of the tank.

Man... check out car forums... some of them are just nasty... but still the worst I have ever seen is MTBR (mountain biking). The site is mostly picture posts... I dont think I ever saw one pic of post where it wasnt immediatly flamed with the "you suck, I can do better"

Oh man, I've been to MTBR, they are BRUTAL!! Car forums depend on the make. Your Japanese Sport Compact forums are going to be an absolute mess because of the kind of kids that frequent the place. LS1.com is a good place (Camaros and Firebirds) and stangnet.com is quite decent as long as you stay away from the "youth-oriented" sections.
But not a single person seems to have a nice thing to say on MTBR forums. Their Mountain Bike is always better than yours.

I frequent a couple of Accord forums and there's not a whole lot of flaming on either one of them.

Are they Accord-specific or General Honda? If they are Accord specific, then I guess I'm not that surprised since the Accord is a more expensive and refined car that is less likely to attract the riffraff the way a Civic might. But I am still surprised.

They are Accord-specific. I don't think I'd frequent a forum where there were an abundance of civic drivers and/or tuners for the reasons you stated.

Try going to parenting forums. I finally found a site for POTs(parents of Twins) where just about everyone gets along and rarely claw each others opinions to pieces. Sadly as my kids and tanks are getting older I find less webtime.
