DIy fulval intake tube and strainter

Has anybody made the intake and strainer for the fulval canister filters. Mine was missing the intake and strainer, so I need to make one. Right now I have a piece of a spray bar shoved into the tubing, it seems to be working but I want a regular intake and strainer, and all I can find online are kits. If anybody has pictures of what they made please post them so I can get an idea of what I would need.

Check out H4n's (member) thread in for sale forum, he sells custom stainless steel intake prefilters. Good guy, he'll do you right. Will be getting 2 from him in near future.

So with that strainer from h4n you just need some rigid tubing of the right diameter. Figure out the diameter you need first and he will make one to fit.

If you still have the aquastop valve, just go to Home Depot and get some vinyl hose, or use the appropriately sized ehiem hose. I like the ehiem hose cause it's a little more flexible without kinking. If you go to the irrigation section they have 'risers' that are the perfect size and come in different lengths. All you need is the appropiate fittings to fit into the hose. All should be available in HD. After that, just put the stainless steel strainer on the end.
