15 gallon column riparium (my first)

Derimmed an aqueon 15 gallon column.
Used black Diamond sand, a couple pieces of driftwood and a rock...
Right now I only have two planters hanging. Have several more.
I ordered some plants from riparium....
Anyhow here are some preliminary, first day pics.. I've decided to go with a single half moon betta, it's beautiful! The water is super cloudy.. A compact fluorescent on top, submersible, remote controllable led on the bottom.

Depends on your bettas personality and how hungry he is. I have red cherry shrimp in with him in a 10g. When I skip a day of feeding he will give them a chase. Haven't seen any fo missing yet.

It looks beautiful and as jeepguy said it all depends on your betta. If you want to breed the cherry shrimp, it's doubtful how many shrimplets would survive and not be a snack. Some bettas hunt ALL the shrimp down and eat or kill them and some will leave the adults alone and eat the babies. With enough hiding spots and a friendly betta, it's possible to have them co-exist but it's a toss up and something you won't know until you introduce a shrimp to test. And sometimes things go fine... then the betta has a bad day and the shrimps disappear.

Looking good. Nice purple
More planters in the corner will make it even better, once you get the plants and they grow over the top. Any plans on planting the bottom?

My experience with promptness of my shipping was, ah, sub-par. Very good pre-sale support, none after. Haven't seen him on TPT in months.

Right now my underwater lights point up from the bottom I would need more underwater light pointing down from top or very low light plants... I have four more hanging planters....I would like some sort of plant in the bottom... the led does have about 30 different colors. I also have some under substrate planters I can use. I will be doing a lot to make it look right... this was just the first day

A larger clamp of NL Java Fern might fit right in. A stand of Ambulia in one if the front corners could work.

Are you gonna leave the tank on the floor as it is? I'd be scared of kicking it or something with it just being on the floor like that. Things look good so far.

Yeah, Devin has been taking longer on getting stuff out here lately, but he has always gone out of the way to give me more than what I was expecting.

I was working on it in a spare bedroom. We haven't decided where to put it... I have a
fluval106 I'm going to put on it as well..... I think we're buying a new leaning step ladder looking bookshelf for our bedroom.... it may go there... I'm not allowed to comment on the shipping problem.. a moderator threatened me with a "warning" because I mentioned that it took forever to get my stuff...

What plants can survive with the least amount of light... I can supply liquid carbon and I have some planters that go under the substrate that'll be fertilized.
I'm not doing anything else on top until I get the plants from riparium supply. Two dwarf umbrella sedge and three strawberries and cream ribbon grass

Given the rock and driftwood on the bottom, Java Fern is what I would do myself. There is a lot of NL Fern for sale in WTS from the seller I bought from before. Quality stuff at good price.
