I have seen an occasional pallet of MGOCPM at Wal Mart, Martinez. It is not always there, though.

Glad you found some. Each Ace is independently operated, so stock may vary. Worth checking out more than one, if there are several nearby (I can think of at least 4 near enough for me to drive to)

Other option:
Safe-T-Sorb, available through Tractor Supply (Dixon, a bit of a trip) or Turface, available through irrigation stores such as John Deere or Ewing Irrigation.

Thank you for those other suggestions. I actually found it on the Ace Hardware website and it said it could be sent to one of the local stores. I called the store nearby and they were also able to order it. They didn't have any in stock.

Am glad I've got a list of other options compiled here to refer to. Thanks

If you need more and you're willing to make the drive, I picked up mine at the Home Depot in Tracy.

Good deal right now. When I had looked they didn't have the free shipping ... If Ace doesn't come through today will order it today.

Says the shipping deal is temporary so grab it while it's hot: "Special Shipping Information: This item normally requires a shipping charge, but is eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping today."

The Amazon deal is really good. I paid $4.99/8qt bag at OSH and bought 4 of them = $20. Compared to the $11.99/32qt bag on Amazon. I might have to return the OSH bags and save myself $8.

I had the same problem here in Sac. I went to Lowe's, Home Depot and Walmart and I couldn't find any and finally found some at Osh. Don't know why they're not selling it anymore.

Just as a follow-up: ordering online via acehardware.com and then picking up at a local store worked the charm. I have some soil in hand. Now I need to find some plants! Thanks for all the advice and hopefully it helps other soil searchers.

I think the SFAS is having a big auction this friday. I haven't been to a meeting in a while, so I'll have to double check.
