26 gallon bowfront

Petsmart had a price sticker for a 25 gallon discontinued but did not update to the 26 gallon they have the set for - so instead of being $160 as the bar code on the box rang, they let me have it for the $72 the sticker on the shelf said!

This is an upgrade tank for my 10 gallon tiger endler tank. Going to start with the included light of the set and will upgrade that later to a better light if I need to/if Moe does not eat the plants I test with him (in the 10 he hasn't eaten everything all at once at least! So plan is plants I don't mind losing to start and test him.

So far on this project, other than getting the set (which has the bowfront tank, the filter, the light, the heater plus water treatment liquid and food) I have painted the bare spot on the kitchen wall that used be behind the hanging microwave that was haunted when we moved into this house, it would randomly turn off while you were using it, or randomly turn on while you were not using it, was not due to loss of power cause clock always had time! We used that for a can good storage for awhile and I finally got tired of it and removed it from the wall several months ago (at around 2am)

Tank options were limited mostly due to that spot only being 28-29" wide.

So
1 - set bought that will fit in area
2 - husband is out getting black diamond blasting powder
3 - wall area painted

Once wall is dry I can start setting up the tank a bit.

looking forward to seeing this tank set up. I just bought a 26 gallon bow front complete set up off craigslist. Just filled it today and it did not spring a leak! Now I need ideas as to what to do with the tank. I got rid of the lid and light and bought a glass lid and LED lights. Going low tech as I have never had any luck with C02.

Going to post any pics?

Marineland double Bright LED Lighting System. Got a good deal on them. Pretty happy with the lights and they have lunar lights that I can turn on at night. Haven't planted the tank yet but should be good for the low light plants I tend to get.

Now that I have searched around online to remember it doesn't yet matter if I have a good light if the snail eats all the plants all the time!

Next layer of paint on the portion of the wall and the tank placed in the spot. The substrate is still in the car, so haven't even done anything with that.

Well crap, hub brought home the black diamond, but it says in big red writing - PRODUCT MUST STAY DRY Maybe if I put cling wrap over it and tape it to the sides and then add water it will be ok?

about 25lb of black diamond added to tank and about 5 gallons of water..... I'm using a bucket next time.... using the tube of the substrate gravel doesn't work so well from the faucet
