What?!? An actual "Planted Tank" on the TV show 'Tanked'? Shocking!


Anyone else catch the last episode of Tanked? I don't really watch this show often but when I do, I've seen a majority of SW tanks... I've seen a few FW builds, but nothing special... especially with LIVE PLANTS! LOL

It was funny to watch Wayde King do some research on lighting and plants... they seemed to be stumbling around on the process. :lol:

Anyway, here's that tank they scaped. They were actually trying to "SCAPE" with slopes and all in mind.. rather than their other tanks where they just drop in fake decor and gimmicky props. LOL... I hope to see more episode like that but I doubt it.



Here'a a clip of that segment... watching the full episode was better because you see them out of their comfort zone trying to figure out a FW planted build!

Really not a great scape and I always think they overstock all the tanks they build. The FW ones they do especially. I remember the one where they put like a 10gal in a TV for a kid and put a rainbow shark, a bala shark, and a red tail shark in there. They try and it is TV but not true FW folks.

I think they also did one or two more planted tanks that included a Harry Houdini based tank and/or a pinball based one.

Got excited when I started watching that episode but as things progressed my enthusiasm waned. No mention of a CO2 system at all, and I wonder how long those lace plants which make up a pretty big part of the scape are going to last.

Fish Tank Kings did a planted tank in an episode this season too. They also did a cool vivarium for an endangered species of PDF that is on display on a wildlife center in Florida.

I don't think it looks bad compared to the hideousness of everything else I've seen on that show. I feel sorry for whoever tries to maintain the water quality.
