I was reading Rolo's post about ODNO wiring, but now the pics have gone :?:
I am a little confused.
So here is what I had planned on:

Completely gutting my existing hood, and mounting two 20watt 6700k t8s next to each other. I planned on externally mounting my electronic ballast so I could use my original tank cover.

Could somebody post a diagram of how to properly OD two bulbs?
What do I need to buy apart from the bulbs (I have the ballast)?
Copper wire? 4 endcaps? mounting screws?
When I split a wire between two bulbs (is it the blue wire, I forget), can I solder (sp) the wire I've bought to the original covered wire? Or do I just have to twist it?

How much light do you expect I can get out of these? Could I grow 'high light' plants, or no more than 'medium light'? Can aluminum foil be used as a reflector, or is there something that works better?

Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated!

I'll post a diagram on Monday (when attachments should be back online).
To answer your other questions:
Apart from the bulbs and ballast, you need 4 endcaps and you might need some extension wire (especially if you're wanting to mount the ballast remotely).
I'm not sure what you're asking in your second question. Just try and follow the diagram and post pictures before you turn anything on.
With 2x ODNO, your equivalent wattage will be around 60 watts. With 4x ODNO, it will be around 80 watts. Depending on the size of your tank, you might be able to grow a fair amount of high light plants.
Aluminum foil is a weak reflector. Use either white paint or mirror reflective mylar.

I'll put up the pics from my ODNO post later today. I don't know why they are gone. ?.

Anyway, the best place to start is by letting us know if your ballast is electronic and what its configurations are as far as number of lamps and wattages. Usually, there is a diagram and a list of different configs with cooresponding amps and volt...see if you can perhaps draw up a diagram in paint or describe it well.

If you have the name brand and product # I could probably find its proper diagram and help from there.

Sorry, I should've put the ballast info in before ops:

It is a Sylvania Quicktronic - QT2x32T8/120 ISH-SC

Lamp Types - 2xFO32 2x FBO32 2xFBO31

120V 60Hz 0.67 Amps 600Voc

How do I know if I'm overdriving 2x of 4x?
Do you think 80watts over a 29 gallon (tallish tank) would be too much, without CO2?

Lyndzi, I couldn't find a wiring diagram for your ballast, but its a 2x32 watt like mine. I'm assuming that it has a black and white wire for connecting to a power cord, 1 red wire lead, and 2 blue wire leads. Is this correct?

Since it now cost a $10 subscription to post attachments, which I won't be buying, I could send you two diagrams via e-mail.

That would be great rolo,
there is a diagram on the label of my ballast, but thats just for regular wiring, i think. It does have all of said wires!

It's moreso shorting the pins and 'splicing' the wire I don't quite understand.
