Hey everyone
I have a small problem with a mini vortex reactor that I have. I currently have the reactor hooked up to a pressurized CO2 system bubbling at a rate of 1 bubble per second. My problem is that the reactor cant keep up with the bubble rate. The reactor is basically getting filled up with CO2 gas and spewing out tiny CO2 bubbles all over the tank. Is there anyway to remedy this problem without having to lower the bubble rate? Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? |

Cut back on the bubble rate. If it's not getting dissolved it's not doing you any good.

Hey Rex
I guess thats what Ill have to do. Is there any other way to make the reactor more efficient? |

not sure if its possible, but if you cut down the size of the sponge in the reactor it might give more room to disolve the co2, i have the bigger reactor and have no problem of a high bubble rate

One bubble per second seems to be about the rate that the mini vortex can handle. I'm running one at 1/sec in a 29 gallon tank. If you need more CO2 disolved, then you need to switch to a bigger reactor.

Hmm... for some reason 1 bubble per second doesnt work with my reactor. I wonder what the actual reason behind this is? Anyone want to venture a guess? Maybe its due to temperature?

I run about 45 BPM in mine and that's pushing it pretty close for me. Maybe you and I have bigger bubbles than mario.
