Mossy Moss Moss tank (AKA my first actual scape)

Ok starting this journal a little early in anticipation!
Ive found myself with an empty 5 gallon! whoo hoo! Gonna do a lava rock/manzy scape.

Specs:
-5 gallon glass tank which I plan to de-rim and resilicone
-Sponge filter
-no heater untill the winter, when I will add a Hydor Theo 25 watt, my favorite for nano tanks.
-Substrate: black diamond blasting sand
-will do half tap half ro water for this tank, 1 weekly 10-15% water change if tests indicate it is needed. Otherwise, just RO top offs for evap

Hardscape:
-Black lava rock. Will probably glue some together to make some really cool mountain looking structures or stack some close with substrate in the middle of them and plant some c. parva. (Maybe)
-Manzy, whenever I can find one that will fit in such a small tank. I may have to buy one that is fairly symetrical so cutting it to fit wont ruin the flow of it. Of course it is going to be covered in moss, so I have some room for error here.

Plants:
-MOSS and then MORE MOSS!! lol. On hand I have flame moss, fissidens and a tiny tiny amount of rose moss a friend gave me. I have some xmas, taiwan and java moss coming in the mail. The java moss is going in a betta tank though.
-Anubias nana micro if I can find it. Nana petite if I cant find the micro.
-Anubias nana "stardust"

Livestock:
-SHRIMP: either Dark Blue Velvets or Tangerine Tigers. Maybe both. lol. Im wishy washy here.

No pics yet, My phone is completely incapable of uploading pics. :P its a huge p.i.t.a to upload any pics here from mobile. Stupid smart phone.
As soon as I can get some free time to work on this tank a little and borrow a decent digital camera Ill update.

Feel free to chime in with suggestions, advice, encouragement.

The "Before Shot": Tank as of 8-21-13, With its unscapedness and betta resident.

Try your local landscaping rock yard: should be around $0.30/lb.

My husbands older brother owns a landscaping company. He said I can fill up a 5 gallon bucket for free when his shipment comes in on wednesday.

Got a huge package of mixed moss from a raok from haterr today! It arrived in great shape. Its a large sandwhich bag full of Java moss, Xmas, and Taiwan. Planning a moss wall with the xmas. The taiwan will probably go on driftwood or stainless steel moss tiles, undecided.
Gotta order some SS mesh squares from h4n next week.
Also have a really interesting specimen of moss coming to me from TPT member Mordalphus; Hawaiin Waterfall moss. Its really pretty. Thinking im going to put this on the manzanita, for a nice overhang/ tree like look.
About to go take some pictures of my awesome moss blob in the little quarantine tank. And some pics of the 5 gallon as it is now. A "before" shot.

On another note, who can point me to the guy with all the awesome manzy? Plantbrain I think? maybe? Im a newb, Im probably wrong. LOL

good luck with the plants! I think the nuphar lutea will compliment the other lily plant you have.

I have a real soft spot for moss. I just love it!

And I think Ive decided on which shrimp. Either orange neos or tangerine tigers. Just depends what I come across first for a decent price.
