Tank looks great. I'm redoing mine soon.

I have Yellow Neos from Soothing Shrimp and I love them. I plan on getting more later this month or next if he has any available.

Well, I was happy with my light, but I took a look at my tank yesterday and realized the sides are doing REALLY well, and the middle is not. My poor erio was looking terrible. I know it is fussy about being moved, but it wasn't improving. Quite the opposite.

Then I remembered that I had this same issue in the previous scape. Even easy things did poorly in the middle, while stuff on the sides did great.

This light has one blue LED right in the middle. I don't know if that is the issue, but I decided to try an experiment. So, I had a Current Satellite Freshwater+ on my 6 gallon bookshelf tank. That tank is just water and a Zoomed 501 at the moment. I moved the Current over to this tank to see if it helps out at all. I figure two weeks will let me know if I need to buy yet another Current to replace the one on the 6 gallon.

So now I have this:

The light experiment seems to be paying off. The erio is much better, and everything else is continuing to grow well. The only issue I still have is that my nerite keeps bulldozing some of the downoi and crypt parva, so I end up with floaters. This particular substrate is hard to keep the parva rooted in, and some of the shorter downoi.

More importantly, THERE ARE INHABITANTS!!

Moved in ten beautiful yellow shrimp (from SoothingShrimp, of course), and they are doing great. Here are some terrible pictures to illustrate:

Thank you! Considering putting the nerite back in my other tank, since the shrimp seem to have the clean up under control, and Mr. Nerite is wrecking havoc with the newly planted parva.

Hate putting my hands in the tank to replant all the time.

Discovered my first berried shrimp this morning! Ridiculously excited to see if the babies make it.

Tank is doing really well with the Sat+ light. My erio (which is kind of fussy) is growing really well.

Had a bit of a tankpocalypse when i went away for three days and left the light off. The stauro all lost its leaves! Bah. It is regrowing nicely, but now the lower stems are bald. Waiting patiently to trim the tops and replant.

Downoi is doing well, it just takes forever to root in this substrate. It was a Petsmart package, and wasn't really in good shape, so I think that is the biggest factor in getting it settled.

Pregnant Shrimp Pic! This is my biggest lady, and man oh man does she have a lot of eggs!

My shrimp finally had her babies...I guess. Only one egg left inside her, but I don't see babies anywhere. I am assuming that they are just too small to see easily, or like to hide at first. Hopefully.
