Dosing from a gallon Metricide jug made easier

A quick and simple one:

So you bought a nice big jug of Metricide to save money on Excel - but how do you easily get 3 mg out of the jug without making a mess?

This is what I did. Take a length of airline (mine in the picture is black, doesn't matter) and stuff it down the hollow handle on the inside of the jug. Make it long enough to go all the way to the bottom of the jug. The handle will hold it in place so it doesn't fall in, and if you cut it off about a half inch above the rim of the jug you can still put the cap on.

Now to get the measured dose out, take a no-needle syringe, stuff the tip into the airline and pull back the plunger - the liquid will be pulled up into the syringe. If you don't have the syringes, almost any pharmacy or vet has them for dosing liquids to children or animals (respectivily -if you are getting your kids medicine from the Vet you got problems I can't help you with )

mad drawing skills 'cutaway ':

blurry cell phone pic:

Once the jug stars to get low, it may be hard to fill the airline and tube - the bigger the syringe volume the less of a problem that will be.

Could be improved with a check valve so the hose doesn't empty between doses. or put in a T with 2 drop checkers and pump it directly into the tank.

You mean check valves, not drop checkers.
