Thanks! It's been up and running for a year and a half now. I forget. :-)

Another week = another update. Very happy with the tank right now. Its kind of a jumbled mess, but it is a lush jumbled mess and everything is growing well. Wish I had a legit camera. Took some closer up shots this time around. Enjoy!

I did a pretty serious trim on Tuesday. Thinned things out a bit since some plants were getting out if control. Filled a gallon zip lock bag if Brazilian pennywort!

Thanks! The red plant is Alternanthera Reineckii 'Rosaefolia'. It's a great looking plant.

Yeah, your tank is growing in nicely as well. You have great looking fish! Glad you enjoy my tank. Camera phone doesn't really do it justice. Should be getting a legit camera by the end of the summer tho.

Things are pretty overgrown! Prob gonna have to unload some plants after a trim tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled for an RAOK, people. Just picked up 6 rummynose tetras! Got a good deal from Unique Aquaria. They school nicely. Tank is pretty fully stocked now.

Updayeet! In my last post I mentioned it being overgrown. Ha! That was nothing. I let things go too far lately and I almost killed off all my glosso and ludwigia senegalenis. Bummer because they were both doing so well. Plants at the surface were blocking the light. Lesson learned. After trimming a whole heaping mess of plants and 2 RAOK shipments, its looking better. Going to have to do even more trimming and some rescaping next week.

Hey!
So my plants grow like gangbusters! And I also had some BBA that was starting to become prevalent. I decided to so some serious tank work. I had read about in-tank dosing with h2o2, but didn't feel like taking the media out of my filter to do that. I wanted to do some rearranging anyways so I decided to pull out most of the affected plants, trim off the really bad stuff, and h2o2 dip the plants before they went back in the tank. I did 15ml of h2o2 per gallon of water for 15 minutes. Once everything was back in, I did a double dose of excel. We'll see how it goes...
Here's a before shot.

Halfway through...

And after!

I can actually see my fish now.
Hopefully these will grow in nicely again and I'll transfer them to my new 40b in the fall!

Quite the little jungle you've got going on in there! The new arrangement will look sweet when it grows in!

Yeah the plants grow in quick. I'm not going to do much with this tank going forward. I'm going to replace it with a 40b in the fall. I'll start a separate journal for that tank and really plan it out. Looking forward to having a more legit scape. This tank is more of a plant hoard.

I have almost the exact same situation as you! My 29 is just a plant hoard at this moment, but im gonna set up a 40b pretty soon. The 40b will be very planned out and will finally be a real scape instead of an update as you go kind of thing!

Plants are growing in nicely. Nice to not have a crazy jungle to deal with.
