Have to trim moss???

So I have carpeted the moss on just about every rock and driftwood, now they're bushy and starting to grow in all directions... Should I trim them? If I trim them, will it accelerate the growth or something? If I do need to trim them, how do I do it? I don't want to buy those $40 fancy scissors or pluck them with my hand since the BPs will attack me... Does it hurt if a cichlid bites you?

Are you talking about the curved scissors that are shaped like an "L"? They aren't $40, I found some that cost low as $10 on no ebay links allowed...

Don't worry about the fish, get your hands wet! Dive in with any pair of scissors and start trimming your moss. Just hack away at the places that are growing thick, you'll get the hang of it.
