Algae on slow growing plants in a high light tank - can it be stopped?

I have a large bunch of Java fern close to the top of my tank and it constantly collects brown algae and is now collecting hair algae of some sort. The rep at the LFS says that a slow growing plant is doomed to collect algae in a brightly lit tank. (I have 4x T4HO bulbs on an 8hr cycle, EI dosing and pressurized CO2).

I can't dose with Excel as it will kill off some of my other plants. The other plants sometimes have a little algae, but it seem to have blown onto them from the current passing by the Java fern.

The tank setup is still fairly new and as the plants fill in the algae is lessening, but will I always have a problem with the Java fern and Anubias? I hate to get rid of them, but I'm getting sick of manually removing the algae.

It sounds like the java fern is getting too much light. I have java fern and anubias which grow a tiny bit of BBA. I did have a problem with hair algae but after reducing the light intensity it went away.

Brown algae is common in new tanks and will go away in time.

Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, John and his friend Sally both spotted a dalmatian inside of a truck with sirens. The animal with John and Sally is a _ _ _?
