Breeder net thing

I'm not sure how to explain it, but I seem a guy on here that had almost like a breeder net on his tank. But it hung on the outside, had water flow coming in from the main tank, and flowe out to the main tank. He housed a pair of male and female shrimp in there and breed n them so the babies end up in the main tank. He had gravel and plants in the breeder thingy, I was wondering if anyone know how to make one of these out of a lees specimen container. I have three two big and one small. And I have been thinking maybe I can do a little selective breeding without having many tanks. Does anyone have any photo of this or have made any themselves.

The marina hang on breeder box?

You could rig a sponge filter up with a clear tube where the bubbles come out, and feed that hose into your box

Or u could make your own tiny sponge filter and place it right in the box

I'm not sure if that's the exact one but It is along the same line as that.

I have an idea in my head but I can never put my ideas into the project without something being messed up. I want to some how make something like the marina box. Only with a lid. Inflow and outflow.

How would I configure it. I can make a lid no problem. But the intake outflow is going to be a problem for reasons I don't Have a torch to bend tubes

There's got to be some diy ers on here that can help me out! Lol. Basically what I want is to make my lees large specimen container into a selective breeder I can somehow have an out and in flow to my tank.

It is what I'm talking about and it's in his 20L thread journal.

I made one and am waiting for the silicone to dry so I can test run it and post my solution here for others to use as well.

S after much deliberation and work, I came up with an idea of a diy hob breeder box that takes water from main tank into breeder box and back to the original tank.

Supplies;
Two undergravel filter heads
One undergravel filter tube
One fre filter tube
Two fluval pre filters
Silicone
Lees large specimen container
Airline
Air pump

Steps;
1. I took the tube and cut it short to fit in the tank and pokes holes in it to let water flow through.
2. Silicone the filter head to the container. One in flow and one out flow.
3. Attach tubes to heads, and pre filter sponges to tubes, as well as run airline in the heads.

It seemed like a simple and remarkable idea at the time but there is one problem. Well maybe two that I could use help fixing, once that is done it will work properly. So when I plugged the air pump in and let it do its thing, the water started rising and it was trickling out of the inflow and out flow. But not as much as needed for actually water flow, I'm talking like 4 drips per minute. And I need it to be a constant flow to keep the water from getting stagnant. The second problem is that some how somewhere it is leaking water. I believe it may be the attachment heads to the filter head that come with charcoal usually. Well I scrapp the charcoal and used bio media. And I'm not sure how to fix that either. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix these problems?

Final product

Since you are using pre filters then make the holes bigger or create open slats. Just like an actual hob filter. U must be constricting flow to much. Awesome DIY by te way

Maybe the intake needs to be deeper to let the bubbles push more water?
