You mean air and CO2? The reactor would airlock. Air doesn't dissolve in water as quickly as CO2.

Best solution: fast growing plants. If that isn't there, surface agitation (via filter outlet, powerhead, airbubbles, whatever) will help, but makes the CO2 addition a little pointless.
