Does it matter where the bulbs are positioned?

Im thinking of buying a overtank luminare with 2 55W T5/PC bulbs. My tank is 90cm long, but the light emitting panel on the luminare is only 59cm long (centrally located). Will this evenly light the tank, or be bright in the middle leaving either end poorly lit ???

It is a 3 feet tank than. Won't do much difference. Just keep it at the center.

With a 2 foot bulb lighting a 3 foot tank, you're going to have six inches of dimly lit tank space at either side. If you could stagger the bulbs so that one bulb is touching an end on each side, then it would reduce the dimly lit ends, but I doubt you want to mess with the nice luminaire fixture.
Might just need to keep low-light plants on the ends.

Deal's done. Just ordered with a few other bits & bobs...spent a weeks wages...I'm gonna be in sooo much trouble when it gets delivered... :roll:

OK, there's an 8 week delay on these lights. Anyone in the UK know of any cheap suppliers of T5/PC Overtank Luminare thingies ??
