Planted Chi!

So I finally got around to doing my 5gal Fluval Chi. I made a post in the tank journal section, but figured since this is the Nano tank section I would post a couple pictures up here. This is my first real aquascape, so constructive criticism is appreciated!
Old tank shot:

And new tank shot:

Feel free to check out the journal in my sig, and thanks for looking!

I like the new one: better substrate, hardscape, lighting and plants. Have you tried to put a black bakground?

Not yet; We just finished setting it up last night lol. But it's definitely on the to-do list. Thanks for the compliment!

Very nice! I like the arrangement with the wood and the stones.

Thanks! I picked out the wood and stones, and my girlfriend did the arraigning since she has a better artistic eye than I do lol. We got weird looks at our LFS store cause we were just sitting there arraigning stuff in a random box =)

Good for you. Why should you buy items without planning how they would look together?

Exactly! And it turned out pretty good, although we didn't realize just how small 10"x10" was lol

Added the drop checker, heater, filter, and a black background, and finally put in Betta Boy Blue!

What kind of heater did you end up using? I have a Fluval Chi 5gal as well, but the only ones that are sleek and small have preset temperatures.

I don't trust preset ones lol. I don't want my fish cooking or freezing. I use this

It's the 25 watt one

I love this stuff, but they discontinued it a little while back so it's kind of hard to find. I know Keyboard Aquatics has an eBay store and he has like 4 5lbs of it.
