my god, that seems like such an easy way to add more lights to your setup without spending the extra Cash.

Can you retrofit a plastic strip if you gutted it? How would you screw that in to the plastic? Nuts and bolts?

Has anybody ever done that?

Yeah, you can retrofit the stock strips. I beleive the single tube AH Supply reflectors will fit, I could be wrong though as I've never done it personally.

I did mod the stock lighting for my old 29g, just added another bulb & ballast. I used nuts & bolts.

Your tank looks great! Can't wait to start up my 20 gallon long.

1x55w kit from AH Supply with the GE 9325k, sadly, it doesn't fit to the ends, hence the angling of the ambulia . I think I might shift it down & pop in a 13w kit or something. The algae is mostly on the hornwort now, and small bits here & there - it was a LOT worse.

Do you think you could post a picture of what your lighting setup looks like now, and then if you add the 13 watt kit?

When you get sick of the hornwort I think your pearlweed would like nice in it place surrounding the end of that nice piece of wood ya got there.
Also looks like Eco-Complete substrate in there, the crypts love the stuff if it is and the dark substrate looks natural.

Nice tank and it looks like ya got the algae solved too... good show !

2 Bags of Eco-Complete and 1 bag of Tahitian Moon black sand.

I have a Christmas Moss covered DIY slate cave that I'll be putting in for my loaches. I have to figure out where to put it, then can start finalizing the rest of the plant placement. I love the driftwood, but wish it were 75% the size :|. Also picked up some Scarlet/Sunset Hygrophila today.

If I do put in another light, I'll deffinately put up a before/after series of pics.
