Since my tank has BBA, Ive not been selling anything. Even though its under control, its still in there waiting.... I would hate to pass that on to someone else!

I just dump in all in the back filter/refugium and in my hospital/trash tank.

You know, you did a great job at making a tank with plastic decorations not look cheesy

I finally added a chiller!

I bought a 1/4HP JBJ Arctica and a Rio 32HF pump. The pump was stupid loud at first but after reassembling it numerous times I got it to STFU!

Now the tank sits at 78/79 all the time- which is WAYYYYY better than the 84/85 it was at! The chiller dropped it down from 85 to 78 in just over an hour- perfect!

I also learned how to make PVC plumbing which is super easy and a skill worth knowing!

I dropped the pump and return in the back filter (this tanks a uniquarium) and its just killer. I can see a big change in everything.

The plants are WAY happier, the fish are more active and the algae is backing down. Summers were always quite hard on my tank and last year I saw the temp in the tank hit the mid 90s!

It was freaking expensive... But worth it!

Sadly a few days before I got it, I changed CO2 tanks and there was a hole in the line... The leak made me jack the output to get the right bubble count... I came home that night and all the fish were dead. Well not all, I was able to save the corys, khulis and Rio pleco. The rummy nose school died... And many ottos though I have no way of knowing how many. And a bunch of cherry shrimp... poor guys were stuck to the top- jumped out of the water...

I felt horrible... But had no idea about the leak till too late. Its all fixed now. And lesson learned. Gotta replace that tubing every few years to be safe...

But the good news was the LFS had a KILLER batch of Rummies and I bought 15 a few days ago. All are doing GREAT!

Plus I finally put my Farlowella in and hes doing great. I acclimated him in my hospital tank for a few months. I just have to watch and see the CO2 doesn't screw with him. Im pretty low on my dosing now as the plants are going nuts!

That fissidens fontanus is literally out of control!

Sadly no new pics yet. Things need to balance out and I trashed a bunch of stuff saving the fish that I could after the CO2 assault.

But was excited to say... The chiller has landed!

great tank!!! and thanks for sharing so many tips.

i've always been drawn to the 'fewer' type plant tanks and yours is another (fantastic) example of this.

I am really excited to see how this tank progresses, now that it won't be taking such a hit in summer.

So sorry about your fish! I won't use cO2 for just that reason. Too many "I killed all my fish" threads from people who are way better at this stuff than me.

This is perhaps the most awesome tank I have ever seen, other than the big 1200 gallon plus planted tanks, awesome job

Thanks everyone!

I can't wait to see how things go with the temp stabilized!

Now I just need buy a damn lab grade thermometer to calibrate the chiller and find the +/- on my 3 thermometers- which all disagree on the temp in the tank...

The sad part is 2 of the thermometers are the same- both Coralife digital and they are 1.5 off from each other. Within the +/- 3 degrees they acknowledge but jeeze, can a brother get a legit temp!

What I tell my clients is to put two old school analog suction cup thermometers on either end of the aquarium, average the temp for accurate readings.

Digital temp reading is an Inexact science without regularly calibrated lab grade meters.

At this I thought this was going to be a really cheesy looking tank. I couldn't have been more wrong. One of the coolest tanks I have ever seen. Kudos!
