Diy black water extract

O so my idea is to save all the ial that I have that are either starting to disintegrate or are no longer releasing tannins and boiling them to make my own black water extract. What do you think?

You could do that, or go to Lowes and get one of those huge 2.5 cu.ft. peat moss bags. Just make sure that it doesn't have any ferts in it; you can just boil the peat moss in a filter bag or strain off the extract before you pour it in the tank to remove peat bits. Those bags are like $6-7 for an essentially lifetime blackwater extract source.
