Thread algae

I have what I believe is thread algae in my tank. It is bright green and grows long flowing filaments, it attaches to thinks and almost creates a spider web across my tank. I have removed much of it manually, and I've tried reducing the light on my tank. I have floaters and have hoped they could suck up the nutrients before the algae did but I don't think it quite works that way.

I have read of using hydrogen peroxide as a spot treatment. My tank is empty right now but only will be for 2 more days, before extremely, extremely sensitive Taiwan Bee shrimp move in. I was thinking I could drain the tank down to almost nothing, spot treat with H2O2, and then fill back up with water and then possibly another water change.

Basically, TLDR, what I'm asking is will hydrogen peroxide break apart and form regular H2O when it is mixed with water? Or does it stay in its H2O2 form?
