Transparent film on water surface

My tank is 3 days old and just noticed a transparent film on the water surface.yesterday I had the white bacterial bloom that clouded the tank a bit ,and today it settled on some rocks and wood.I kept my filter on low and there was not much movement at the water surface ,which I think caused the film to appear.
My question is ,Is the film benefic to the tank ,or should I remove it with a paper towel?(no fish in the tank) ,only plants and some hitch hiking small pond snails.

I don't know about you, but my tank gets a surface film because I can't keep my hands out of it lol. I try to rinse my hands up to my elbows to remove any oil/soap/other products before sticking my hands in there, but it's never enough!

You can remove it if you want, or increase water flow to cause surface agitation so the film isn't as noticeable.

like said its just surface scum, you will see it on a lot of tanks. to stop it add a air stone that usually fixes it right up.

i changed the angle of my HOB filter outflow and it cleared it right up - putting a papertowel on it is just a temp measure since it'll come back if the source is not addressed. just in case, i ordered a small powerhead to stir up the surface a bit more and help with oxygenation too.

Eheim Skim 350 or ADA Vuppa are also nice standalone skimmers for the surface if you don't want to put one on your filter intake. This is assuming that the filter flow doesn't clear it up on its own.
