Well whatever the case I will try to breed them out into a new strain, but if it doesn't work this is going to suck. @nubster, like that but a little more purple around the mid section.

I'm going to be starting my rcs tank over today so I will separate the shrimp and then post pics, but I only have a cell phone, so the pics won't be very good. My cell sucks! Plum cherries, sounds enticing haha

You can see towards the middle the purple hue. This is just one corner I took a picture of they were moving around to much. I rescaped and redid there tank today needed different gravel and had planaria problem, easier for me to re do the tank than buy meds.

yeah its the blue chromatophores showing. that is what mine looked like till i put them on black sand substrate. i will try to find the pics i had of them and post but no promises cause it was like 2 years ago. i say try to breed for it and i wish you luck. every one wants purple shrimp and that is the one color that has not been breed yet.

I just changed the substrate in my tank to black flora max, with a little bit of the red flora max in it, and there still the same color and have been since yesterday....

On a side note can I keep rcs, crs, and oebt in the same tank?

The CRS and OEBT can interbreed.

Just a question. I have cherry shrimps and 5 of their fry are brown. Brown as chocolate. What is happening?

I'm not sure, maybe they were bred with chocolate neos before you had got them and passed the genes down to there off spring

If I were to purposely keep blue velvet and some pfr in the same tank, would there possibly be a chance of an offspring that will display some purple pigments?

If you wanted to try that, your better bet would be blue rili x pfr since the BV mutation makes red fade away.

I completely forgot blue velvets originate from rilis. Good tip thanks!
