Thanks CPD they are well worth the money, I highly suggest anyone who has the capabilities to keep them, does. Just took some videos, uploading them now. All are alive accounted for and appear to be doing great! Will update with the videos a little later tonight.

Snapped this pretty awesome pic just a second ago, "tiger lurking in the grass" haha. Really really happy I finally counted all 7 tonight for the first time since I put them in. Kept seeing only four and thought it had perished, but it didn't and I'm stoked! These little guys are the most active shrimp I have seen. Constantly swimming and grazing, they make my oebt look a little lazy. Every day they are still alive I gain a little more glimmer of hope they will survive. Only trouble is I'm going to be moving as soon as these guys reach breeding age.

Anyone near Sacramento area want to babysit some awesome shrimp in September while I drive out there and get their tank set up? I'm thinking about a 5 gallon bucket with filter media and a battery powered air pump with a couple water changes along the way, they could make the 3 or 4 day trip? Any ideas???

Very nice!

I love the contrast with the HC carpet.

10lbs of those stones in a 12G long is a lot. Interested in knowing how you manage to keep kH and gH low when I had about 1/2 of the amount of stones you had before and it creeps up like mad.

Thank you everyone, I am extremely happy with how things are going so far. Even of they have half the success as my oebt I will be very very happy.
Msnemo, to answer your question about the stone. I do twice weekly water changes, maybe a total of 5 gallons in that tank. I will only take out maybe a gallon and a half and drip it back to full over maybe 3-4 hours then if I feel like it drain maybe another gallon. This has helped keep parameters stable, but certainly not perfect. I have used straight di water remineralized to gh5 since October. My parameters are gh6 kh3 ph7.4 tds 195-200ish now that they are in there. I am unsure wether that is all the stone or the old aqua soil I used is doing some of that. My oebt that I now have close to 80 babies, when I got them in January as juvies, came from ph6.8 kh1 gh5. They have done amazing and I just found an article that might explain it. http://www.shrimpnow.com/content.php...ing-New-Shrimp

Lex the contrast is amazing. I love how I can see them from 20 feet away right as I walk I my front door.

Thanks sbarb, I have 3 months to figure this out. It's to bad, you put your btoe on sale tge day after I paid Nick for these lol! If only you were a day earlier I probably would have gotten yours and made my own royals. Oh well, I will certainly be setting a tank up just for the blacks once I move and get settled in. I agree that the main factors with these tigers is keeping temps low and the water clean. Really not that hard to do with the 7 p's haha.

Thanks again everyone I highly suggest you give these guys a shot.

So it's been one week, I fed some kale along with some omniopro and a little bioplus for the babies. All 7 royals came out to eat! So stoked they're all alive and by all appearances are doing fantastic.
I've noticed their claws are white even though their legs are a solid dark blue. Actually was able to get a pretty good pic of it.

A little ball over the kale, lots of oebt babies you can't really see in the pic.

Well it's been a little over 4 weeks since I got these guys, all 7 are alive and appear to be doing great! They are super active and always come out for feeding time. Althought one has a weird hump tale from a bad molt I believe was caused by a mysterious 50ppm tds jump one day last week. Not sure if I was half asleep and put in way to much EI or what happened. But I finally almost have things back to normal, everyone even all the oebt babies handled it like a champ. Now some pics, these guys are getting big, hopefully start breeding in another month or so.

They're really starting to get a nice color.
