Planted Tank VIP
|
I decided it would be best to tear down my 10 gallon after some unsuccesful adventures with it. So now I have an empty 10 gallon tank with a 23 Watt CF over the top. I was thinking of either doing some kind of vivarium/terrarium or going completely dry. I'm open for pretty much anything, any suggestions? Preferably something pretty cheap and that won't grow out of the tank, ever.
Thank you, Kyle

One single twisted cypress knee, with a hole drilled right up the center. Cut out a slot for a mini-pump at the bottom, turn the setting on low for water flow. Set a thin layer of natural small dark stone around the knee, and decorate it by drilling holes for an ivy. When the ivy starts to grow good, pull the runners onto the land, out of the water. Keep that whole thing to one side, use a slate stone separator to hold back the medium stone and peat/sphagnum mix soil. Plant stunted ferns and mosses on the other side. Then just add two ground dwelling frogs.
(You may have to dig around for some stunted ferns, I had to look for weeks before I found mine... Most ferns around here are over two feet tall, my stunted ferns are only 6inches tall, full grown.)
